Yesterday I received my black Icelandic lamb fleece from Sue Krahn. Very pretty, almost VM free and silky. I washed and dried it on my screen right away. I wanted to blend the softer thel with some silky and crimpy black alpaca that I had. The staples were pretty close in length. The thel separated easily from the tog on my hand carders. You can see in the second photo the Icelandic staple before separating. The third photo shows black alpaca at the top and the bottom is the thel. Fourth photo is the blended rolag. This is going to be a lovely soft special yarn when I spin it. Not sure if it will be 2 ply or navajo plyed.

Alpaca Socks and More!
A couple of my beautiful Huacaya fleeces, handspun yarns and some socks I knit from them. I am sure everyone will recognize these from Folk Socks. They are the Norwegian socks. I ommited the shaping because I wanted a shorter sock. I am not so crazy about the Dutch heel though (don't tell my Dutch hubby hehe). I find it never fits right.
