Glorious Greys

A unique 2 toned alpaca fleece..amazing crimp and softness...I thought the bottom was dirty and would wash out but it's not :)
Hand combed top..you can see the 2 toned colours.
On the combs. I absolutely luv these combs and could not live without them! I am using the smallest hole on my ditz because I plan on spinning this very fine.
This is 'fine spinning' for me. I am spinning three fine singles of this grey in order to make a 3 ply sock yarn. Just waiting on my nylon fibre to arrive to blend with the rest.
This is another beautiful grey alpaca fleece I am lucky enough to own. This fleece has a supersoft, sparkly quality to it. Kid mohair is the perfect fibre to blend with it...they have much in common I think. Using the mini combs for this because it has a slightly shorter staple and I wanted less waste with my mohair.
A close up of this fleece. It's also quite crimpy. The yarn made from this alpaca/mohair blend is for Lilly of the Valley scarf. I luv that pattern.
These are the little kid mohair rovings. I made them using my handcarders.
Ciabatta made with rosemary and olive oil. Baked on my pizza stone.

Oh..I love needlefelting with natural colored Alpaca. It makes the critters look so much more authentic. It looks as soft as a cloud.

Oh gosh what fabulous alpaca and kid moahir. Two of my fave fibres. I have grey alpaca but its not as fine as that and I have been thinking of blending it with either some grey Gotland or grey angora (bunny) that I have.Ohh I want to get my combs out now. Must look into getting a small hand set of combs but I do love my big English ones too.
Those pasties look yummy too ; wish you lived arounf the corner I would be round in a jif:)
To answer your question its the Suzie pro thats the new wheel and I had been debating long enough about which one to get and was torn between it and the Rose . I have just ordered the High speed head for it as well which should be fun ;)
Wish I could get my hands on a Fancy carder but sadly we are in short supply of decent carders here in the UK :(Enjoy and I look fwd to seeing what you think of it

Jody,
That grey alpaca looks beautiful. I have a feeling that it will make a wonderful pair of socks. That Ciabatta looks yummy. I love Rosemary. One of my favorite herbs.

That fiber looks like a joy to spin. Nothing like the beauty of those glorious greys!
