Soft and Pretty Shetland
I'm really pleased with this Shetland fleece. It's the softest Shetland I've ever worked with. The staples are long and comb easily on my big combs. You can see the lovely variegated colours of the fleece. I will separate the dark and lighter bits.
To wash this greasy fleece, I first soaked it overnight in cold water. The next day I did two hot washes and two hot rinses with vinegar in the first rinse. It worked beautifully. I'm going to try that cold soak with my white merino too.

Hi Jocy.
Do you like spinning Shetland wool?
I spun some extra fine Shetland wool a while back. Pure pleasure.
Happy spinning.
WOW Jody you have been busy. I guess I haven't visited for a while. I took a quick glance over your past few posts and what incredible fiber and knitting, wonderful work. I'd love to get the pattern for those natural colored mittens you made sometime if it is not too hard, as I am not the knitter and spinner that you are. I have a long way to go!
That shetland does look lovely. Have fun!
Beautiful! I need to find some shetland, it seems!
Jody,
That looks like some really nice Shetlfand fiber. I partial to grey Shetland.
Hi Jody,
Did you buy that Shetland fleece at my Shearing Open House? If so, whose fleece was it? And, please let folks know that I have LOTS more ... :-)
